Mindfulness Meditation is great for first time meditators as it allows the mind to be open and take in all of its surroundings (the sounds, the breath, physical sensations, thoughts, feelings etc.) with an attitude of non-judgment, peace and acceptance. Gradually, one’s mind becomes quiet and a deep meditative state can be reached.
When practiced regularly, mindfulness meditation will start to spill over into everyday mindfulness and will heighten one’s awareness and appreciation of the little things in life – moment to moment.
